Agromilets Women Farmer Producer Company

Empowering Women Farmers Through Millets

Agromilets Women Farmer Producer Company (AWFPC) is a women-led agricultural enterprise dedicated to producing nutritious millet-based foods while strengthening rural livelihoods. Established in 2023 and registered under the Companies Act, 2013 (18 of 2013), the company works with women farmers and local communities to process Finger Millet, locally known as Nachni, into healthy traditional food products.

Based in Satara district of Maharashtra, Agromilets aims to combine traditional food wisdom with modern processing methods to deliver high-quality millet foods to consumers across India and beyond.

Our Story

Agromilets Women Farmer Producer Company was established as part of the Pancham Project, in collaboration with the USA-based Maharashtra Foundation. The initiative focuses on empowering rural women by creating employment opportunities in millet processing and value addition.

Finger Millet (Nachni) has long been a staple crop in many parts of Maharashtra due to its exceptional nutritional value and climate resilience. Through Agromilets, local women farmers are able to transform this traditional crop into a range of value-added products such as flour, snacks, cookies, laddoos, papad, and other millet-based foods.

By processing millets locally, the company helps increase farmer income, generate rural employment, and promote sustainable agriculture.
